Okay, so I have an MSI Z170A Gaming M7 Motherboard, which natively supports Realtek drivers. I downloaded a driver from the manufacturers website - which works fine by the way - but with this driver installed or any Realtek driver installed, my main playback device does not have the Enhancements tab in the Sounds settings window. I tried changing the audio driver to "High Definition Audio Device", and that works too when it comes to actually playing back the sound, it also has the Enhancements tab, but for some reason, it is really quiet. Even if I jack up the volume to the absolute maximum,

Sound Properties under Realtek Drivers Missing Enhancement Tab

in addition to my previous post, here's what the Enhancements tab looks like on the Speaker properties dialog box when using traditional/legacy Realtek HDA drivers and not Realtek UAD drivers:





(this is only an example as there's also an srs premium sound tab, which is an extra enhancement for certain computers with realtek audio + srs; as I said previously this dialog box may be going away in a future release of Win10 as MS wants to move everything onto the Windows Settings app)

note to leis - I have found a slightly newer Realtek UAD driver from Lenovo that you can try out; it's v6.0.8734.1 & even though it may not be listed for your ideacentre 510-15icb model (it was listed for ideacentre 510-15ick), the 8734 uad driver should work as it has the same INF files as the 8699.1 version.

 

Sound too low, missing enhancements tab in playback devices

For too long, my sound has been way too low, even at 100% I often struggle to hear things. I went into playback devices > Realtek Audio > Properties but the enhancements tab was missing (I know the solution if to toggle Loudness Equalization). So I followed
the standard online steps where I either update the drivers or completely reinstall them. None worked. Apparently, my drivers are up to date. I did this before a long time ago and it worked, then I fixed my sound but then everything switched back to the way
it was before and the same solution is not working. Why is this happening? This is on a Dell Latitude e7470

 

Where did the 'audio enhancements' tab go in my playback device menu?


Did you install thrdrivers for your sound card ? Did you look in the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound ?
They should be in the area I circled in the screenshot. Just open it up and set it's settings. Before you do that one type Sound in Cortana's search box, make your speakers default device and set them up there as 5.1 speakers, then do the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound step.
