    2023-12-30 Microsoft Question No error message. Scanned a 64GB zip drive and found 16+T 33.5GB 'recovered file fragments', dated 2018 and 2020. I don't know what the fragmented files are or how I can read them. The drive hasn't been in use for a long time. The only other items on the drive appear to be install files for ?. Can I safely delete all and format the drive for use? Folders and files on drive are: Folders: support logging folder sources dll files efi boot, microsoft folders boot fonts, resources boot en-us; fonts; resources Files: setup.exe bootmg

    He is using 7-Zip, not Zip. *Wtf :wtf:
    Agreed. Try checking out your SMART logs to see if your drive really is failing. CrystalDiskInfo does a pretty good job reading SMART through USB and RAID on Windows.

    Recover files from Flash drive

    Does not work on a windows pc which is what the OP probably intended

    windows by default does not have HFS and HFS+ based hard drives.
    Able to perform retrieval on both HFS and HFS+ based hard drives. and so will not work with windows
