Windows 10: no ethernet port on my new lap top

I have a new HP envy laptop running windows 11. There is no ethernet port. I bought a USB to ethernet adapter but I have een unable to ge it to connect my laser cutter. on my old computer running windows 7, I could connect my computer directly to the laser through the the ethernet port. but when I plug the adapter into the laptop and directly connect the ethernet wire, there is no communication. what am I missing? TIA

possibly your ethernet port has died...

Unless if you format/reinstall windows , and see if that way... but overall, physically take a look at the motherboard in the computer, and see if any capacitor's top's have blown open or even have a bump on them (the tops of the capacitors should be flat) . If any indication that happens, then your mobo is eventually gonna die.

Other than that, u went through all other steps that are very known..

**My Friends system not to long ago has the exact same issue, and there were caps blown, but only the ethernet didnt work

I have a new lap top and I am trying to set up my email that I have on my desk top and tablet on the new lap top. I7 runing windows 10

 

outlook on old lap top

I am giving my lap top to my son and I want to delete all the outlook emails which I now have on my new lap top but afraid if i delete the accounts on old lap top it will effect on the new lap top? thank you
