Windows 10: No external mouse works on my laptop.

Hello everyone, no external mouse works on my laptop. I got the following errors on "mice and other pointing devices" -> "HID-compliant mouse":Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. Code 39 The specified image file did not have the correct format, it did not have an initial MZ. I have tried several solution posted online like re-install the driver or remove upperfiles and lowerfiles from {4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} GUID but unfortunately, none of this solutions worked.thanks for reading and I wish I can find a solution.

I understand that you are unable to use External mouse on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

• When you say “external corded mouse is not working through usb”, what happens when you connect the mouse to the computer?
  
• Do you receive any error message/code?
  
• What is the make and model of the mouse and computer?
  

• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?
  Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?
  

You may want to connect the mouse to any other USB port and see if the mouse is working. You can also connect the same mouse to any other computer and check.

Wireless Mouse stops working when external HDD plugged in to USB3 port

I have a minor but annoying problem and can't find a solution....

My wireless mouse stops working when an external USB3 HDD is plugged in to USB3 port. The mouse is about 3 feet away from the receiver.

My mouse is a Logitech M310.

• I don't have the problem if a USB 2 external HDD is connected to either a USB2 or USB3 port.
• I have moved the mouse receiver to different ports on both the front and back of the computer but this doesn't change anything.
• If I move the mouse very close to the receiver (a couple of inches), it works so it seems that the wireless range is reduced when the USB3 HDD is plugged in.
• If I connect a wired mouse, it works fine.
• I have 2 USB3 ports and the problem is the same on both.
• If the USB3 HDD is connected to a USB2 port, the mouse works normally.
• I changed the battery in the mouse but this didn't help.
• the USB3 HDD is a WD Passport that is self powered through the USB port.

Any suggestions?
