Windows 10: No internet access although connected

Discus and support No internet access although connected in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; it says no internet access but i am connected and i can use internet with browser and apps if i click troubleshoot its recommends a network reset...     No internet access although connected


    it says no internet access but i am connected and i can use internet with browser and apps

    if i click troubleshoot its recommends a network reset done that a few times already

    also tried cmd>


    netsh winsock reset catalog

    netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /flushdns

    ipconfig /renew


    and uninstalling network adapter through device manager.

    didnt help



    but if i turn on a vpn the network icon on the taskbar becomes normal not a globe with restricted sign on it anymore and says local area connection

    1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig

      No internet access although connected [​IMG]
    2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
      Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
      NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank

    Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

    RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

    1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
    2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer

    I would suggest you to perform an Internet troubleshooter by following the steps below.

    • Click on start and type ‘troubleshooting’ and press enter.
    • Click on ‘View all’ on top left corner.
    • Select ‘Internet Connections’ in the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.


    Also, check if the issue persists by connecting to a different network.
