    "No Internet Access" but internet is working normal


    Hello, I have the following set of observations: - On my laptop, internet is working normal, but: - The network icon in the systray says "No Internet access" and it is the round icon, not the wifi icon. - Another laptop on the same network shows the normal wifi icon with "Internet access". - My Huawei B315 modem normally shows a magenta light, meaning normal 4G access. Now it is green, but on the status page nothing out of the ordinary is showing. This could be just a led failure, but in combination with what happens on my laptop I would like to know more. What I would like to know is how Windows determines if it has Internet access or not. Can anybody shed some light? TIA, Bart Windows 10 Pro 20H2 build 19042.985

    I wasn't giving steps on how to get RDP working, that is covered plenty of other places, I just give the steps to make it secure.

    RDP. If they aren't tracking your Web browsing, I doubt they are going to track RDP.

    And if you start the session from the command prompt it doesn't even put the address in the MRU list.

    Though the question that needs to be asked now is, what are you using for your VM lab?

    No internet access

    Im working on helping someone get there computer set up on my network, but i cant get it to get internet. The computer connects to the network, has full signal bars, but no internet access.

    Whats ive tried to far
    flushing dns
    restarting router
    ipconfig commands

    everything ive looked at seems like it should work, but im getting nowhere. Any1 have any thoughts on this

    I would suggest you to perform an Internet troubleshooter by following the steps below.

    • Click on start and type ‘troubleshooting’ and press enter.
    • Click on ‘View all’ on top left corner.
    • Select ‘Internet Connections’ in the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.


    Also, check if the issue persists by connecting to a different network.
