Windows 10: No Internet Connection after waking computer from sleep: SOLVED

My computer was upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and whenever it wakes up from sleep/hibernate mode, I have to run the diagnostic process to fix this issue: "Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration”. I've tried every possible tip but finally decided to go to Realtek, the ethernet network card manufacturer, and installed their driver. The Realtek oem40.inf driver replaced the Windows 10 built-in rt640x64.inf and the issue is gone.I just want to share my solution.

No internet when computer wakes from sleep mode

No Internet when computer wakes from sleep mode or from cold start until I disable the Local area connection and then enable it.

When I run the diagnostic after it fixes the connection it says this: Local Area connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration - Fixed

But its not fixed. Every time I wake my computer up from sleep mode after its been in sleep mode for a few hours I have to disable and then enable the Local area connection.

When the computer wakes up it has a yellow triangle warning of limited or no internet access. So I have to do the above every time I wake it up.

Things I've done so far: Update drivers, No fix.

Step 1: I suggest you to switch to wired connection (Connected the internet cable to your device), try to wake up the computer from sleep mode and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: As you are losing the internet connection after waking up from sleep mode, I suggest you to boot the computer to safe mode, try to wakeup the computer from sleep mode in Safe mode with networking and check if there is any issue with
internet connection.

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

1. Corrupt network drivers.

2. Incorrect network settings.

Try the steps listed here:

Method 1:

I suggest you to run network troubleshooter to check for any Internet connectivity issues.

a. Press the Windows key on the keyboard; this will bring the search interface.

b. Click ‘Troubleshooting’ in the search result.

c. Under ‘Troubleshoot computer problem’ click on ‘Network and Internet’.

d. Click on ‘Network Adapter’ to start the troubleshooter.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to try the steps in the following article and check if it helps.
