Windows 10: No internet connection during Win11 Pro install on Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 1.0 MoBo

Windows cant find an internet connection during install. My BIOS is up-to-date and Windows cant find the drivers I installed from the manufacturers website.

No ethernet or wifi

Trying to install windows 11 pro on a new build, it has a Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 motherboard. Windows cannot see the ethernet or the wifi. I think I have installed the corrct drivers but still no luck.

 

How do i get wifi to work on my custom pc?

I’ve recently built a new pc with a motherboard that has wireless internet but now that I’ve turned it on for the first time there are no options for wifi. The motherboard is the Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7

Do you have Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 1.0, or 1.1 or 1.2? You can get the driver from Gigabyte's official website here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-AORUS... But make sure you select the right one because for example, 1.1 and 1.2 use different wifi card, one is from Intel and the other is from Qualcomm.

Ethernet driver is separate from Wifi driver, so it needs to be installed separately.

In addition, when both wifi and ethernet are not working, it may not necessarily be driver issue with the network cards, make sure you also install chipset driver and BIOS. You can get all of them from the link I gave you. Just make sure you select the right one for your board.
