Windows 10: No Internet Connection for Desktop

Hi. I suddenly lost internet connection on my desktop. I think I have Windows 10. I rang my internet provider and we tried everything. My cell phone has internet and so does my tv. Anyway my provider said that it’s Error 651 so it’s a Microsoft problem. I’ve tried to troubleshoot offline and Microsoft is saying I need to run a cable from the computer to the router? modem? The problem is that my computer is upstairs and the router is downstairs. Also it was a wireless connection until a few hours ago so a cable connection isn’t the problem. Any ideas?

Is it possible to share internet connection via remote desktop?

RDP is not capable of Internet sharing, so you can't share Internet using RDP with standard applications. There are many way to share Internet from a Windows box to another one. I suggest you to use VPN. You should do following steps:

1. Run VPN Server on your server with unlimited internet access
   
2. Connect to VPN server from your limited computer

If you cannot connect to Wi-Fi or use the Mobile Data on your HTC 7 Mozart device, we suggest that you follow the steps given on
Lumia troubleshooting and repair. After each step, check to see if your issue has been fixed.

• For issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks, select Connectivity > My phone has problems connecting to Wi-Fi networks, then follow the suggested steps provided.

• And for issues connecting to the internet using a mobile data connection, select
  Connectivity > I cannot connect to the internet using a mobile data connection. Make sure to select the next options given if the problem persists.
