Windows 10: No internet icon and volume input/output unavailable

I have no way to connect to the internet although I have the drivers installed and yet I cannot see or retrieve the icon nor can I go to settings and connect to any Wi-Fi even if I used a cable it would not show internet, the sound on the other hand shows an ‘x’ underneath it to the right side of the icon and when I do to volume mixer it’s at 0 and says I have no input or output devices what do I do?

This issue might occur if there is change in volume icon settings.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• Have you checked the issue with other user accounts?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to turn off and then turn on volume icon. Check if it helps.

Method 1: I recommend you to try to turn on the system icon for volume by following below steps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type "Turn system icons on and off" without the quotes and click on it.

3. Turn off and then try to turn on the volume icon
from the list.

If the issue still persist, refer to the method below.

Method 2: Try to update the audio driver in the Device Manager and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.

3. Expand Audio inputs and outputs.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

Internet and input/output problems

My computer is having several problems with internet and its input/output devices not working. There was a power outage recently and before the outage my computer worked just fine. After the outage is a completely different story, my internet doesn’t work
through a ethernet cable and the computer wont accept any input/output sound devices.

Has anyone had anything like this or can anyone give any help?

 

Missing Date and Time, volume and Battery Icons

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if this helps:

• Right click on the task bar and you will get a popup menu.
• Click on properties.
• Under behavior of system icons select ON for volume icon, Date and Time icon and Battery icon to always show.
• Click OK.
