Windows 10: No internet through ethernet, Default Gateway Blank

This is on a fresh install of windows 10 that has been updated. I have several other computers around the house connected through Ethernet that do not have this problem. When I try to connect to the internet via Ethernet I get a unidentified network "side note the WiFi works fine with this PC". Diagnose and it says that the "Ethernet does not have a valid IP". I proceed to try to enter the information manually so i open CMD and type ipconfig to see my information. Everything is displayed but the default gateway it is just blank. I then execute the ipconfig /release command into CMD, successful. Then type ipconfig /renew and I get hit with a "An error occurred while renewing interface Ethernet : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out." I open services.msc find the DHCP Client and it says everything is running. I really don't know what to do at this point, please help me somebody also sorry for the short story.

Ethernet issues - no default gateway

Try adding default gateway.

It's IP adress is adress of your modem or router (it depends where your ethernet connection is plugged in)

 

"No Internet Access" on Ethernet and Wireless - Windows 10

Steps taken to resolve:

• Downloaded from Realtek and installed Windows 10 driver for Realtek PCIe FE Family device
• reset winsock and ip4 and ip6.
• reset DNS cache
• forced media connection by changing ip4 to fixed ip address, gateway, and dns server. Able to ping other devices on network - including gateway, but could not connect to internet. Diagnose unable to find issue with connection.
  • "ipconfig /release" message is "no operation can be performed on (adapter name) while it has its media disconnected."
• when using DHCP, do not receive response from default gateway, so ipconfig has strange addresses. Diagnose returns:
  • "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
• all other computers on network able to use DHCP for addresses.

trudging through topics on tech forum(s) to find other solutions. Need suggestions on resolution.

 

Default gateway unavailable

Since installing win 10 I have the following problem

"default gateway unavailable"

my ethernet contoroler is Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Controller

I can reset the card and it works for a couple of minutes or hours, then the problem returns

Any suggestions
