Windows 10: No matter what method I rename a device in Sound > Properties or More sound settings, after...

Exactly as the title question states: Whenever a restart to my system is performed Windows 11, I have to rename the devices in sound properties simply a Playback and a Recording device all over again, its very frustrating. I am guessing a change might have to be made in the registry using regedit? I am pretty sure the solution might be found there but I don't know how to make a safe and permanent change. If anyone knows a solution and willing to help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Rename Sound Devices

I've figured out how to rename Bluetooth devices, but I can't figure out how to rename speakers.

My speaker list shows up as follows in the sound icon:

• Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (2 - DELL PROFESSIONAL SOUND BAR AE515) - twice
• Microphone (4 - SpeechMike III)
• Microphone (Logitech BRIO)
• Microphone Array (Realtek Audio)
• Speakers (4 - SpeechMike III)
• Speakers / Headphones (Realtek Audio)

Depending on which SpeechMike I'm using (wireless vs wired), it will show up as 3 (wired) or 5 (wireless with second base).

Is there a way to rename any of these devices? I've yet to find a way.

to do an automated fix on this matter. To run the troubleshooter, follow these steps:

Playing Audio:

  On the search bar, type
  Troubleshooting.

  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on
  Playing Audio
  to run the troubleshooter
  

Hardware and Devices:

• 
  On the search bar, type
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Chose
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on
  Hardware and Devices.
