Windows 10: No matter what microphone i use, my mic sounds muddled. how can i fix this?

Hello, a while ago, my headset microphone's quality and clarity significantly regressed. My friends from gaming and discord noticed. I figured it was because I kept dropping my headset, which was a Corsair HS80 headset. Fantastic microphone. Then, fast forward to now, I want that quality back. So, I purchased the Rode Podmic USB. It still sounded muddled, and nothing like the reviews I saw of this mic. So, I got a new mic. Right now, I have the HyperX Quadcast S. And the audio still sounds muddled when I know this mic is quite crisp and clear. So, it seems it was not the Rode mic, and more lik

issue then I would suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps to set the microphone as a default device:

USB Mic Problems.

Tried that a few times and it doesn't fix anything. It says its working properly but when I look at my list of Microphones. My mic doesn't have those bars on the right side that go green when sound is being picked up. When I open multiple sound recording applications e.x. Audacity, sound recorder. It still says I don't have a microphone.

• Simultaneously press Windows + I to open settings.
• Select Privacy.
• Go to Microphone.
• Make sure that mic is turned on. Under Let apps use my microphone, you will see an indicator if it’s on or not.
