The Windows team takes some time off during the Holidays

The Windows 10 for PC and mobile builds that Microsoft rolled out earlier this week are the last of the year, as the Windows team will take some time off during the holidays and won’t push any updates until January.

  3. Windows 10 update issue

I would go back to Windows 8.1 Update 1 and continue using it, since it will be supported until January 2023.

Or, if you must run Windows 10, use build 1607 which will be supported until January 2023 then avoid upgrading to later releases.

Protocols are missing. Windows Sockets registry entries are missing.

I am having the same problems with windows 10 at the end of January the network protocol wouldnt work and said windows sockets are missing. I got a wireless card and still the same. It was only until the last build that this problem arose. I have
not internet access - no wireless, no ethernet. It is on an apire x3740 computer that was working fine under windows 10 until the end of January

Yup.. that's what I was thinking.. I might just roll back to the stable build and drop out of the insider program this weekend. More bugs!!!

Not for me.. I need a stable OS or I'll go NUTS!! ... well nutty than I'm already. *Wink

Why don't you do like me Jeff and just install a unactivated Win10 in Hyper-V let it upgrade and just use it to check out(not use) I don't even install any 3rd party software. I just check out what's been changed in the OS and stock Apps, and see what has changed in system32 and what I do know about the registry.
All my batch & vbs files are on OneDrive so that's not a problem either.
I know it's a gray zone, but I don't "USE" it, I just check how good it upgrades and the updates too.

Hmm, strange. I never thought insider builds were stable. I wouldn't use the 10 insider build to go shopping on online. I would use the windows 10 build released to the public though. However, for other reason I am still unsure using 10 as my everyday operating system.

Why?? TH2 is extremely stable and I use it as my daily with zero issues. I just don't want the extra bugs that will be coming down the road next year.

I didn't say TH2 is not stable. That build was actually released to the public in November as well as the insiders. The insiders have received a new build this week for the fast ring.

  14. I am quite surprised how stable and how well windows 10 pro build 1511 works for me... I left windows back when windows vista came out since vista was a total pain in the a** for me. switched to apple then. still use apple for my main desktop at home, had to get a computer that ran windows for a weather radar program that I need to use since I chase severe weather, had windows 7 on my MacBook pro that the windows partition was only used for that program until it got stolen with my truck. got a dell latitude e6410 that had windows 7 ultimate on it... the night I bought it I installed windows 10 on it. got windows 10 pro. it seems as good as my apple was.... so far at least only had it for 2 weeks and it acts very mac like with the built in mail and photo apps. so far I have new respect for windows.
