Windows 10: No "Open file location" in the menu

I know there is already a similar question from 2019 but it didn't helped me sadly.I downloaded Minecraft Launcher, i would like to make a shortcut to my desktop and i can't find the original file.in AppData\Roaming\.minecraft there isn't any application/exe file which could have workedand using the menu and parameters i can't find an "Open File Location" option anywhere.The launcher works cause i can find it and launch it using the search tool, but i can't access its location...Why and how can i fix this ?

I think the title sums up this annoying issue, but I'll elaborate anyway for the sake of clarity:

When I right click on a program in the Start menu and click on "Open file location" it should, by right, open the location of the file, but it never does. It always opens the location of the shortcut instead (For example: C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Program).

It's really annoying when you have to repeat the process twice for absolutely no reason. I mean, nobody ever wants to open the list of start menu shortcuts!

So, is there a way to bypass this silly unnecessary step, and tell windows to open the actual location of the file/program instead of the shortcut?

Or a setting, or a registry hack?

IIRC Windows did this correctly a few years ago.

No, that's not the sort of 'file location' the OP is referring to. Your 'file location' opens File Explorer at the location of the shortcut for that app in the Start Menu's Programs folder. The OP wants the list of recently opened files, or the Jump List as it is known (hover over each one and it shows its file location). Theirs is turned off (and yours by the looks of it).

Yes. This is the one. Weirdly it now shows all the recent files after update. Maybe that has something to do with it. I did not do anything at all.
