Windows 10: No output device installed - windows 8.1

Win 8.1 64 bit. I merely added a secondary healthy SSD hard drive with computer power off. And my windows on the primary SSS drive glitched. And was then unable to boot. I eventually was able to get booting again using some manual methods seen online. But - while win 8.1 was alive again ie. able to boot, with none of my user data files being lost, the 'no output device installed' issue surfaced.I tried every recommended online method to 'fix' that 'no device installed' issue, and every one those methods didn't work for me. What got me out of my own situation is shown in the following. T

No Audio Output Device is Installed

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

2. Select "playback devices".

3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

5. Save the changes.

I've tried every step that was suggested, still getting no audio output device installed.

I suggest you to check if the audio drivers are installed by checking in Device Manager by following the steps below:

1. Press 'Windows key + R' and type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotes) and press enter.

2. Expand 'Audio inputs and outputs' and check if there are any drivers listed.

If there are no drivers listed, then install the latest drivers available or from the drivers CD which was obtained when you had Windows 7.
