    No Password On Startup or Wake???


    I've been trying to figure how to disable the password required on startup AND when the computer wakes up if left idol. I've been at this for the past hour and I can't seem to get it. The most common solution is to run " netplwiz" and select the box that says "don't require password on start up" or whatever, but when I run netplwiz there is no such box!

    I'm running Windows 10 Pro version 2004, OS Build 19041.388.

    Why the hell does Windows make this so hard? How can I do this? Thank you!

    Windows Startup password

    Is it possible to remove a startup password without being able to log into the system? A friend's laptop just prompt her today for a password that she never enabled. Now, she does have a standard user account password, but that doesn't work for the startup password. She had the computer for about a year now and it has never asked for a startup password until today.

    I tried to use Hiren Boot CD to run a diagnostic on the laptop, but it has a bsod. Windows 10 normal boot crashes as well

    Password on wake up

    Hi,

    I have the same problem. The suggestion above does not work on my Surface Pro 3. Login screen shows up every time when waking up the computer.

    In addition, I did two things:

    (1) checked that the main power saving plan does have the "require password on startup" option turned off.

    (2) Set Windows 10 to lock the screen after 15 minutes of inactivity

    No luck. Password prompt keeps coming on wakeup regardless of those settings. This is an unfixed bug in Windows 10, right?
