  1. No permissions to do anything... and I mean anything.

At a random point yesterday, I noticed my PC Windows 10 stopped opening files. It was stalling and then giving me the error message "you have not got permissions to access..." as well as "there are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper". I went on to check other files and it didn't seem to affect some. Pictures and audios are fine, but anything on MS Office just wasn't working.

I assumed it was a bug with Office so I went to uninstall it and got a message that it was in use or currently being installed. So I go to run task manager and it doesn't load. I then realise that this has disabled pretty much anything executable on my PC with the exception of chrome, audios and pictures. I cant install anything, run a backup or reset. Everything just crashes it. I've spent the last 4 hours googling solutions but I can't find anything that addresses this issue. It's as if I have been stripped of my admin rights.

    Here's what I've tried:

    Installing a diagnostic tool

    Scanning for viruses showing none

    Disabling Windows defender crashes

    Running msconfig crashes

    Running a back up crashes

    Running reset crashes

Changing my login to local rather than through one drive

I'm at my absolute wits end. I've backed up my essential files and happy to reinstall everything to get this fixed. Any solutions would be much welcomed.

    :)

  2. Bree Win User

    Permission issue

Presumably because TrustedInstaller is the owner (hence you need its permission), suggesting that img3.jpg was installed by Windows at some time.

Presumably that also means it can be uninstalled. How did you get it in the first place? Where is it located?

If you really want to delete it yourself, then taking ownership would seem a logical first step.

  3. No permissions

    Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.
