Windows 10: No PIN option, but pin is required??

So this morning my computer Windows 11 Surface was all working fine. After returning to it after a lunch break, it was on shut down - everything normal so far. After I would swipe up to use facial recognition, but it didn't work and said "your pin is required to sign in". Now I pressed on sign-in option which brings up some.boxes with icons. The only ones there were the password and the facial recognition. Knowing that the facial recognition didn't work, I tried a few passwords a few failed attempts because I had never used passwords. I decided on my phone to sign in and change the passwo

PIN at start up

I suggest you to follow the below steps how to Change PIN password:

• In the search box, type settings.
• Then Click on accounts.
• Then on the left hand side click on sign in options.
• Then you can Select Change PIN password and remove the pin.

PIN

To resolve this issue with your PIN, follow these step:

• Restart your computer first, then after that, open File Explorer and browse to this location:

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

• Delete everything within that folder.
• Go to Settings-> Accounts->Sign-in Options.
  
• Click Add a PIN again and set your PIN.
  
• PIN sign in should work going forward.

No Option to Pin to Start

So there's no option to have recent docs directly from the start if the program is pinned to the start menu now?
That seems like a step backward
