Windows 10: No Printer/disc reader

Discus and support No Printer/disc reader in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Just updated to Win10 and I can not print nor can I read a disc.     No Printer/disc reader


    Just updated to Win10 and I can not print nor can I read a disc. I wanted to read my x-ray that is on a disc from the hospital and the opening dialog that usually opens up on the screen does not appear. Is it that the drivers need a special update from Win10?

    Added floppy device won't work

    Win 10 - I plugged in and old SmartDisK floppy reader this morning and it appeared to load, but won't read a disc. The device is not listed on the My Computer page. I went into the Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Devices and Printers, Device Manager
    and clicked on Floppy disc drives and it was listed so I clicked on it. Under the General Tab it states the device is working properly. How do I enable it?

    6230i MMC Card write protected

    Hi,

    I'm having trouble using the MMC card from my 6230i via a card reader on my Canon MP610 printer.

    It's 'seen' and listed as a Removeable Disc in My Computer, but when I try and copy anything to it I get an error message "The Disc Is Write Protected" - even if I try and format it.



    Any help in removing the 'Write Protection' would be very gratefully received!

    It could be AutoPlay is set to 'Take no action'. Go into Settings>Devices>AutoPlay and change accordingly.

    However, you mention it cannot read a disc. Is the drive being recognized in Windows 10? Is the printer being recognized in Windows 10? It could be missing drivers causing the issue.
