Windows 10: No regkey path

For CVE-2023-36884 it is recommended to creat a Key FEATURE_BLOCK_CROSS_PROTOCOL_FILE_NAVIGATION and some REG-DWORDs Excel.exe,Graph.exe,MSAccess.exe,MSPub.exe,Powerpnt.exe,Visio.exe,WinProj.exe,WinWord.exe,Wordpad.exe in the registry. But we don't have the require path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\". We have only "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\" with other keys but without "\Internet Explorer\".When I create the path via GPO, how does my system know what to do with it?We are running Windows 10 22H2 and Office 2019

what exactly do you need to decipher about that path line? also, what are you installing? perhaps i can help.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think the purpose of the echo command was to check if ~/bin was in the $PATH file. My problem is that I can't decipher the output and I don't know how to add ~/bin to the $PATH file.

Just for clarification, the snippet of instructions I gave is just a few steps in the installation process. Nothing is actually supposed to be installed with those steps.

If you wanted to start thinking about using Powershell, here's a starter for 10:

It looks as though you could simply define $INCLUDE as you wish.


Then there's pathed which appears to support including semicolon separated lists.
