Windows 10: no security tab in properties?

VER: 21H1 19043.1110 There is no security tab in properties and the files and folders are padlocked, so I can't change permissions/ownership? The files are on a USB pendrive, copied from a previous PC (the whole downloads folder infact!). I've tried the: 1) Simply type Win+R on your keyboard and type then type gpedit.msc. 2) After this When the Local Group Policy Editor opens, navigate to: User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> File Explorer On the right hand side, double-click the Remove Security tab setting. 3) If you want to remove security tab select Enabled and click Apply. 4) If you want to restore the missing Security tab, select Disabled instead. The policy setting will take effect immediately. AND THIS: Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor. Now go to following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer In right-side pane, create a new DWORD NoSecurityTab and set its value to 0. It'll immediately add "Security" tab for all files and folders properties window. If it doesn't add the tab, you can log off, restart your system and check. These aren't working or making any difference what so ever! Cheers!

No Security Tab In Properties

I have a problem with the USB properties tab there is no security tab on that.

Security tab in folder properties just disappeared

• Is the issue specific to any particular file or folder?

I suggest you to restore the Folder properties to default and check if it helps.

Steps:-

• Windows Key + E and click View.
  
• Select Option and choose "Change folder and search options"
• Go to View tab and Restore defaults.
  

If you still face the issue, try running a System File Checker (SFC) Scan on the system and check if it helps.

sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.
