Windows 10: No sound after pausing playback.

Hello,I have an HP Laptop running windows 10. It has the Realtek audio driver. Often when I pause playback, of either music, or video, when I resume playing there is no audio coming out of the speaker of the computer. If I restart my computer, it solves the problem. Sometimes, but not always, if I close the window, then reopen it, it will play with sound again, but occasionally, it requires restarting the computer. This only happens with the built-in speaker on the computer. It doesn't happen if I am using the headphone jack, or Bluetooth. I have tried updating the sound driver, and run

• Using Cortana, type sound and then hit the Enter key.
• Under the Playback tab, right-click on Speakers and then choose Enable.
• Click Apply and then Click OK.

To disable the sound playback, right-click on Speakers and then choose Disable.

Disable beep sound when plugging/unplugging laptop charger

I would suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

Disable the PC Speakers and check if it helps.

• Right click on Sound Icon in the task bar and go to Playback devices.
  
• Select Speaker and click on properties.
  
• Go to Levels tab, and mute (or you can reduce it) PC Speaker and check if it helps.

Agreed, this change by MS has been noted elsewhere.
Further, win key + s, sound does not find it, nor does playback.

Suggestions:
a. Use Open Shell Start menu (free). Searching for Sound finds it easily.
b. Use 3rd party utility Volume2 - (e.g lets you control volume by scrolling when hovering over taskbar + mute with middle button and more). Free, well thought out.

Rt click the tray icon, option Playback Devices opens the Sound dialogue.
c. Create your own shortcut - and put it in the Start Menu
