Windows 10: No sound after resuming from pause in any media players

When we have to pause a video and navigate from the same for 2-3 minutes, there is no sound after resuming it. This happens in all video players like VLC, Windows media player etc. I've tried multiple troubleshooting exercises within settings, device manager etc. but no luck. This issue is occurring only from past few weeks, likely to be caused by the recent updates. Now to play the video with sound, I've to close the currently used video player and then open it again. Please check and do the needful ASAP.

MP3 player supporting pause/resume

I listen to Audio Books, and with tracks 60mins long I need to be able to pause the song, and resume listening hours or days later. I have the N73 and with the nokia music player if I pause the audio and exit (with exit button or the red hang-up button)
when I go back into the player I have to fast forward back to the place I was.

I can leave the player running in the background while the audio is going, but if you pause and get out the same way it actually closes the app.

Does anyone have any suggestions of software that may support this?

 

Can't resume a Youtube video after pausing it

This happens to me almost every time I pause the video and leave it to buffer up a little. After pausing it I just cant resume it and have to refresh the page. I'm using the latest Firefox browser.
I looked around the internet and see some people suggest it might be the adobe flash players fault.
What do you think, and has anyone experienced something similar?

 

Pause and resume audio files

The media player you use to play the lectures likely has a keyboard shortcut to pause the playback. For example: In Windows Media Player you can press CTRL+P to pause and resume playback.

These keyboard shortcuts only work if the audio file is on your hard drive. If the audio streams from the internet and the web page doesn't provide a control to pause the playback, there's nothing you can do to force it.
