Windows 10: No sound coming from speakers and a sound driver I don't recognise

Hi,I'm usingell XPS 9315Windows 11 22H2Installed on 25/03/2023OS Build 22621.2428Today my laptop will not play any sound other than when it boots windows up before I put in my password so I know the speakers functionally work. My laptop plays youtube videos soundlessly whilst lagging, and Spotify cannot play any songs. I've also tried playing a downloaded MP3 file using Windows Media Player and it just has a loading bar that doesn't end. When I hover over the volume icon, it says the output is "Speakers SoundWire Audio Class" which doesn't seem familiar to me I feel like it was Realtek be

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

 

Different application sounds coming out from speaker and bluetooth

Only Adobe Rush through speakers. The rest will be through the headphones when bluetooth is connected. When not connected, it goes through speaker.

 

Sound comes out of laptop instead of TV when viewing a DVD

Sorry everyone, I forgot to come back to say I solved the issue! I did it like this:

• Right-click speaker icon in the tray
• Click on "Sounds"
• Go go to the "Playback" tab"

There are two speaker devices listed:

1. Digital Output (with a TV icon)
2. Speaker/HP (my laptop speakers)

I disabled Speaker/HP, and then Digital Output automatically took over, which made the sound come out of the TV. Problem solved! Thanks for the suggestions and advice that helped steer me in that direction. *Thumbs
