No Sound/devices after Windows latest Update, July 2018

What a nightmare! I'm really at the end of my rope here. Does anyone have a solution for getting the sound devices working again on my computer? The latest update in July 2018 did quite a bit of damage to my PC that I use for recording music using Pro Tools as a DAW. This is crazy and is costing a bundle of time and money to fix? I've tried everything, every remedy I've found on line and then some. It looks like this update, that I had no control over, wiped the sound devices completely out. It won't list any sound devices, won't load any. We've updated drivers, and reinstalled them, tried other types, RealTek, Sound blaster, etc nothing works. This is ridiculous. Everyone in the biz keeps telling me to get a MAC. I fought hard and at great expense to stick with a PC, maybe that was a mistake. And these ridiculous updates reek havoc and destroy work flow completely. This sucks big time. What a nightmare.

    :)
