Windows 10: No sound from monitor or pc after installing new updates and new sound driver

Hello. I recently set up a pc with windows 10 home and to my surprise found out that there was no audio outputting from either the monitor or the pc but when i wear headphones its perfectly fine? i have been trying solutions for 3 hours now, such as uninstalling sound drivers and resetting the pc, installing new drivers, installing all new updates but still nothing! i would really appreciate if someone could help as this is quite a pain!

Windows Or AMD Installs Sound Driver For Monitor With No Audio Ports

I searched and all I could find was issues with no sound from monitor. My issue is the reverse, well sort of. For some reason Windows or AMD installs audio driver for my new monitor with no audio ports. Monitor is an Acer SB272 EBI 27" Full HD as listed in my PC specs. When I booted up the first time Windows or AMD makes the monitor sound my default sound device and the result is no sound. I changed the sound settings and disabled the monitor sound device. I can't figure out is why a sound driver is installed for a monitor with no sound or mic ports. This is coming from a clean windows 10 install. The monitor sound driver wasn't there until I put my XFX video card back in. I didn't install any video drivers. Any ideas as to why the driver was installed?

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• When will the sound disable, when playing through main monitor or the extended monitor?
• Did you try enabling the sound from the sound drivers and check if it helps?
• Since from when are you facing this issue?

This issue causes because the monitor automatically takes the HDMI sound as the Default input. Disable and enable the speakers and check if it helps.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

• Right click on the volume control and then
  Properties,
• When you connect the HDMI it becomes the default output device, even though it has no speakers.
• You need to change this back to "Speakers" and set as default.

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
