Windows 10: No sound from Realtek speakers. Were working fine recently windows 11 unable to update driver

Speakers stopped working. Were working fine a few days ago. Unable to diagnose/repair

[SOLVED] Windows 10 Realtek 'Speaker Fill' not working

Found a solution.

#1: Close Nehimic (setup does not auto-close it) and uninstall if it is installed.

#2: Uninstall Realtek drivers. Restart computer when prompted. When your computer comes back up, Realtek will be running off of Microsoft's generic HD Audio driver.

#3: Follow the directions here to prohibit Windows Update from reinstalling the Realtek driver.

#4: Open "Sounds" then "Playback Devices," select the device from the list and click on "Configure." Follow the prompts.

#5: Right click on the device and select "Properties," then "Enhancements," then check "Speaker Fill" and apply. If you do not see "Speaker Fill," repeat step #4 and make sure to pick a choice that has more than two speakers. "Apply" the changes.

#6: Start playing audio. You will have to restart the program if it was running in order for the change to take effect. Your stereo music should now be playing as Stereo Surround! *Big Grin

 

please help (realtek R speaker problem)

i have been going nuts trying to fix this.

my laptop speaker has not worked and I have tried all the following steps:

1. reinstall audio drive
   
2. update to the latest audio driver
   
3. rollback audio driver
   
4. tested different sound formats
   
5. checked to see if realtek r is set to default
   
6. checked to see if realtek r sound was enabled
   
7. checked to see if the sound was muted
   
8. troubleshooting
   
9. turning off audio enhancements
   
10. restarting.
    

this has been a small problem, from time to time the speakers might work, but a lot of the time it doesn't.

when I try to play a game or watch a youtube video, there is no sound, yet the speaker icon depicts that it is fine.

when I use the settings to test sound, the sound bar shows that there is sound but there is no sound coming from the speakers, I don't

know if this is a hardware problem, but I have tried researching and nothing has worked.

if you think there is a solution, please help.

Onboard Sound Not Working

A friend and I built a PC yesterday for him, using the MSI P67A-G43 motherboard. Everything seems to be working fine but we're having an issue getting his sound to work. A RealTek driver was automatically installed when we installed Windows 7 64 bit, but since we couldn't get it to work we uninstalled it and got the one off of MSI's site. When we go to "Playback Devices", there are 4 things listed there. The AMD sound from his card, which is disabled, "Speakers" from RealTek which aren't detected. Optical from RealTek, and RCA from RealTek. I suspect we need to be using the "Speakers" device, but why is it saying nothing is detected even when he has headphones or speakers plugged into the back?

He has tried the back plugs along with the front audio, which we made sure to plug in to the motherboard. Any suggestions on how we can fix it?
