Windows 10: No sound in Windows 10 after update 19042.870

After the Windows 10 after update 19042.870 there is no audio coming form my speaker/headphones. I have an Asus FX506LH with a realtek audio device.


I've already tried:

• Windows troubleshooter
• Remove device
• Remove drivers rollback not possible
• Run: System File Checker tool
• Check registry for the audio service tip from: This post
  
• Check settings in Realtek Audio console tip from: This post
• Followed tips from this post
• Update bios
• Install optional update to Windows 10 20H2
• Mute/Unmute everything

Some other solutions on the web are:

• Clean up windows/reinstall; I recently bought this laptop and I'd rather not do this again...
  
• revert updates: Windows notified me of this update because otherwise my Windows was not supported. So also not an option i think.

Please advice on what to do.

The windows update failed three times.




It got installed successfully by Microsoft update catalog.



No problems now.

 

I got no sound microsoft or horrible sound

• What happens exactly when you try to play the sound?
• Are you getting any error message?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows updates?
