Windows 10: No sound on games in fullscreen at 1080p

I recently upgraded my TV from1080p to 4K; the new TV is a Samsung Q70C 55".My PC is a gaming desktop with Windows 11 with the following specs:- Gigabyte B650M K motherboard- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D- 64GB of RAM- ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 OC with 24GBThe TV is connected with HDMI from the 3090 card to the eARC HDMI port on the back of the TV.When I connected the new TV, I set up Windows for the new resolution 3840 x 2160 and set up HDR capabilities.Games e.g. Planet Zoo, Eldin Ring all function with full sound and at fullscreen mode when I set the resolution to 3840 x 2160 within the game. Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Screen duplication makes it impossible to select native resolution in fullscreen games

I have a 1440p monitor connected via Displayport and a 1080p monitor connected via HDMI to a Nvidia GPU.

When I duplicate the 1440p screen to the 1080p screen I am unable to select resolutions higher than 1080p in fullscreen games. (Windowed games and other programs still display in 1440p)

I tried creating a virtual resolution of 1440p for the 1080p screen and I verified that the resolution is actually in the registry, but that didn't solve the issue.

Any ideas?

 

Windows 10 4k fullscreen game cursor invisible

I cannot see my cursor in full screen games.

Details:

*Games with superimposed cursors allow me to see the custom cursor

*Windowed games allow me to see the cursor

*If my native resolution is set to anything other than 1080p i cannot see my cursor in fullscreen games

*My monitor is 3840x2160 60hz and my system is set to 3840x2160 60hz (So don't tell me that i should set my resolution to that of my display, because I already have.)

*No matter what in-game resolution i configure to, i cannot see my cursor in-game

*Every game is affected

*3rd party overlays like the steam overlay do not allow me to see the cursor in any fullscreen application

*** Pointer trails are disabled, pointer shadow has been tested both toggled on and off, Enhancements of pointer precision are disabled, Show Pointer Location by hitting Control has been tested both On and Off

*This problem started when i switched to windows 10

*This problem has NOT been solved

I can see my cursor in windowed mode

I can see my cursor on the windows desktop

I can see my cursor in fullscreen games when my system resolution is set to 1080p

I can see my cursor when i have tabbed out of a fullscreen game

I CANNOT see the rings generated by show pointer location by hitting control

I CANNOT see my cursor in fullscreen games by using applications like borderless game

I CANNOT see the windows cursor while a fullscreen game is highlited
