No sound on seemingly random videos?

For the past year or so now, random videos on Chrome or any other browsers I open will not play audio despite the tab saying it plays audio- some even videos I've watched before that worked perfectly fine. Just now, I could screenshare a video over Discord that played no audio for me but had audio for the other participant in the call. This seems to be an issue that affects my whole computer given that other browsers, Microsoft Edge included, do not play audio for these videos either, not just Chrome, and I have seen no other questions about this issue. Am I the only one? As far as I know my sound drivers and Windows version are up to date, and I've tried every possible solution I could find with no success.

    :)

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue No sound on seemingly random videos? :p

  3. Seemingly Random BSoD

    Hello,

I bought a Laptop about six months ago, and immediatly expirienced crashes. They happen seemingly at random. No matter what I'm doing, and the error on the BSoD has given a variaty of reasons over the months. I've done two or three clean installs of windows
10 and try to keep all my drivers updated. Althrough, I do this through via a program - DriverEasy.

    Hope you can help.

No sound on seemingly random videos?

    Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
