no sound via HDMI connection to TV for viewing/listening on larger screen

I have an HDMI cable from my PC to my TV. Using the TV's input toggles, I can easily view whatever is playing. Once upon a time, you blessed us with an "upgrade," and I lost the ability to receive the audio component through the HDMI cable. Though we still get a great picture, it is an inconvenience to have to rely on the computer's speakers for the sound element. Yes, I go to "Settings" then to "Sound" and "add a device." There used to be an option for the HDMI cable, but no more. Now it just searches aimlessly for a device to add. Since I am not using a wireless device, it's a

  2. No sound on TV, which is connected to laptop via HDMI cable

    Hi David,

It seems the television is not configured properly on the system. When a TV is connected, you will see the TV device under Sound settings. You can click on Set it as Default. I suggest you to try using a different HDMI cable and check if the issue persists.

After you have the right cable (HDMI Cable), follow these steps to connect your computer to your TV.
Turn off your computer and position it within easy reach of your TV. Disconnect the monitor, but leave the mouse and keyboard connected.

Connect the appropriate video cable from your computer's output to your TV.
Turn on your TV and set it to the input that matches the output on your computer. You might need to refer to the user's guide included with your TV for instructions on how to do this.
    Turn on your computer.

You should see Windows displayed on your TV. If the screen looks stretched, or part of the screen seems cut off, you probably need to adjust the screen resolution in Windows.

If you can't see Windows on your TV, you might need to reconnect the computer to your monitor and adjust the screen resolution before you connect to your TV.

Hope this helps. Do keep us updated.

No sound when connecting PC to TV with HDMI

Connecting an IVIEW PC to Vizio TV using HDMI cable, video works, but no sound. I right click on speaker and select playback devices, the only speakers listed are the PC speakers, Intel SST Audio Device (WDM). Tried using IE and Chrome. Connected same
PC and cable to Samsung TV, no problems.

Split screen with sound on Laptop and TV through HDMI

    HEY WILFREDO, you say this:

We show you an example, keep in mind that depending on your operating system and sound card, the images may vary, but the steps are very similar.

    WHERE IS THE EXAMPLE ????????

The HDMI audio there in settings is already enabled by default as I have seen on all PC's I connected to TV's via HDMI.

You must not read the question.

They state that they already have SOUND out of the TV through HDMI or speakers on laptop for the video on TV.

Such as playing a Video on a media player/web page on TV via HDMI, there is sound.

And then playing another video on another media player/web page on the main laptop screen and they have no sound, as they should if I am not mistaken. But possibly not. Kind of like plugging in USB speakers, now your other speakers do not work as you have
to switch to USB as default speakers.

I get sound from every program no matter how many monitors are connected and what is playing what per display.

But probably this Laptop, you are going to get sound from both at one time on speakers or sound with HDMI on TV and possibly not on laptop. The HDMI sound enabled for TV could disable the sound for laptop speakers.

I am going to bed. I have 3 monitors and 1 TV connected HDMI to my PC. I will double check tomorrow, But I have a PC with Vinyl-VIA HD AUDIO and 5.1 surround sound speakers and not a limited laptop. There are many possibilities depending on your hardware
of video and audio and then configurations.

OP, is the sound coming out of the TV or the Laptop speakers while playing the video on the TV. Give me that info and i will check tomorrow. Because I know for a fact you can drag a video to the TV and have sound out of the PC speakers connected
HDMI and another video playing on PC and have sound for that too. But who watches 2 programs with 2 sounds going.

So I have never tried getting sound out of TV speakers via HDMI and sound out of PC speakers for a 2nd video playing the same time on PC.
