Windows 10: No sound when airpods are "Connected voice, music"

This has been asked before but this is a very specific version of this problem. I connect the airpods and for a few seconds it works while the bluetooth settings say the airpods are "Connected music". Soon this automatically changes to "Connected voice, music" and that is when the sound cuts out. From there I go to sound settings and the input device selected is definitely not the airpods, so it should not be "Connected voice" at all. To fix this I've tried removing the airpods as a device and then re-pairing, but that just caused another problem where they disconnected every 5 seconds. I refe

AirPods

So I can easily connect my airpods to my Windows Desktop 10 but it wont connect to sound! It says Connected, Voice and Music but I need it to connect to SOUND so I can watch YouTube and play Roblox!!

 

Airpods Connect and Immediately Disconnect

I am having issues connecting my Airpods to my Surface laptop with Windows 10. I can successfully pair the airpods, but when I try to connect them, they immediately disconnect. When they are briefly connected, it doesn't read "voice, music" and I am unable
to get sound. They often connect and disconnect automatically and for brief intervals.

I am occasionally able to connect them with voice and music, but it is apparently random. Once they are connected properly, I have no more issues until I disconnect them manually.

Has anybody experienced this issue, or can anybody offer a solution?

 

Connecting airpods

My airpods are saying their connected and I never had a problem before with them. The sound keeps playing through the speaker instead of the airpods but their clearly connected. I really absolutely hate this computer since it was listed as being a good
computer and its complete trash but it never didn't connect and work properly. Its a stupid hp windows 10 if that means anything but shouldn't. I just want to know why it isn't playing through my airpods but says connected.
