Windows 10: No sound when gaming in full screen on my TV

Hello. When I start a game in full screen on my TV, the spatial audio doesn't work. It seems as if the whole computer refreshes when I put a game in fullscreen mode, and then the sound goes out. Otherwise, it works for games not in fullscreen mode, everything else, and soundbar works when spatial sound is turned off. Currently, I'm running an RTX 3080Ti, intel core i7 12700K, 3 1TB SSD's, 32GB DDR5 RAMTrident I think, and that is being connected to a Samsung Q800T TV. Basically, I would like to see if either: 1 There is a way to prevent games from going into fullscreen mode at least o

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

The HDMI interface in most cases is its own sound device independent of the main computer sound chip.

1) Go to Control Panel.

2) Sound and check the playback device.

3) See if there is a separate option for the HDMI interface, with the monitor connected make that the default device and it should switch to it when the screen is connected.

I also suggest you to check the plugin's connected to TV monitor.

I would suggest you to follow these steps and run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

• Type “Troubleshoot” without quotes in search and click on
  Troubleshooting in the results displayed on the left side of the screen.
• In the left pane, click on View all.
• Click Audio playback and follow the on-screen instructions.

Sound comes out of laptop instead of TV when viewing a DVD

Sorry everyone, I forgot to come back to say I solved the issue! I did it like this:

• Right-click speaker icon in the tray
• Click on "Sounds"
• Go go to the "Playback" tab"

There are two speaker devices listed:

1. Digital Output (with a TV icon)
2. Speaker/HP (my laptop speakers)

I disabled Speaker/HP, and then Digital Output automatically took over, which made the sound come out of the TV.

Problem solved!
