Windows 10: "No Such Interface supported" error when trying to open a .png file from File Explorer

I've seen other questions that seem slightly related, but nothing that quite fits. Recently, I noticed that if I try to open a .png file through File Explorer which is normally associated with Paint 3d, an error message pops up, with the path of the .png in the title bar, saying "No such interface supported". If I try to explicitly open the .png with Paint 3d using a right-click->Open With dialog, I get the same error. If I start Paint 3d, and open the file, Paint 3d is able to open the file.This is a somewhat recent development last month or so. I've tried associating .png with other i

Have you tried setting your photo viewing app as default ?

You can do this in Setttings > Apps > Default Apps > Set a default for a file type > .jpg > select the preferred program.

opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

 

No Such Interface Supported when trying to open a .jpg file

Since the most recent Windows 11 update yesterday, whenever I try to open a .jpg file I get the follwing message:

NO SUCH INTERFACE SUPPORTED.

Even if I tell it specifically to open with PHOTOS I get the same message.

TIF files open just fine.
