Windows 10: NO THUMBNAILS VISIBLE AFTER IMPORT FROM EXTERNAL DRIVE

I cant believe that what appears to be such a simple thing, that we take for granted as a basic service, is messing with so many people, and has no apparent answers or solutions anywhere online. This is the one place, since you've created windows, that I would expect to get a solution. No one in your help forums seem capable of helping anyone fix this. Now, I've taken the steps as directed by your technician, and I may have just wiped out my brand new pc.I'm only seeing a white screen, aside from this mozilla browser. External Hard Drive (WD Elements) is visible in PW but not in explorer

followed steps..

the partition displayed as below...





as advised I selected "list".. and for a long time it was like this..

I did try the steps in the article, but the external drive letter, which is connected to the PC via a hub, was not visible in the "Pick one of the following combinations" drop down list.

 

My External Toshiba DVD Drive doesn't show up

The above issue might occur if a drive letter is not allotted to the external drive.



Please reply, did you try removing and re-plugging the driver to the PC?



Since the drive shows in Device manager, I suggest you to remove the external drive and re-plug to check if the issue is resolved.



If the issue persists, check if you are able to open the drive via
Disk management by following the steps below:

• Connect the external drive to the PC, press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Disk management option from the context menu. Check if the drive is visible in the window.
• If visible, right click on the external drive and select Open. Check if you are able to open the drive in
  File Explorer.
• Close the Disk management window, open File Explorer (Windows logo + E keys on the keyboard) and check if the changes are effective.
