Windows 10: No touch pad windows 10 1909 install

Acer aspire 11E worked great till recent 2 days ago install of windows 10 1909 . Now i have no touch pad . Searched and tried many things . Went back to previous build and it was working but then it down loaded new windows 10 and lost it for good now . Basic knowledge of computers i gave up and got a wireless mouse .Can someone get me a # to call ! After dealing with virtual help i’m done . Loops questions not much help . Device manager doesnt even show touch pad eirher after trying “ fixes” from internet . Currenty doing a reset and will check it out tomorow .

Again . Hopefully there is a new actual upgrade to fix it

Disable touch pad after installing Windows 10


I have a Synaptics touch pad on my HP Envy laptop. Prior to upgrading to Windows 10 if I went to mouse in the control panel there was a checkbox to check to disable the touch pad if a external mouse was detected. This worked fine. Now under Windows 10 I can still check the box to disable the touch pad but the setting does not stick and has to be rechecked after every reboot. Is there a way to get this setting to stick? There is no disable setting in the device manager for the Synaptics touch pad.

I understand the inconvenience you faced.It’s unfortunate that touch

pad becomes inactive frequently and the pointer doesn’t respond. We will

definitely help you with this issue. Just a few question first to understand the

issue better;

1. What is the make and model of the computer?
2. Does the touch pad freeze randomly or during a particular

process?
I would suggest you to try these steps to see if it resolves the

issue:

Method 1: Run "Hardware and devices "Troubleshooter.
Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with

hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if

the issue is with your touch pad. Refer these steps:

a) Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
b) Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
c) Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the

left panel
d) Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Method 2: Try to Update drivers.
I would also suggest you to check for updated drivers for your touch pad

in the manufacturer’s website.

Method 3: Try to install drivers in Compatibility mode.
If updating the driver didn’t help, then I would suggest you download the

touch pad driver and install it incompatibility mode and check if it

works. Refer to these steps:

a) Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then

tap or click the Compatibility tab.
b) Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode.
c) Tap or click the drop down box and select operating system, then tap

or click OK.
d) Try installing the driver and check.

Loss of touch pad function after clean install of windows 10

I recently did a clean install of windows 10 build 1607 to my aspire es1-512-c9y5 and now no touch pad. I went to settings and it does not even have a touch pad listed only the mouse. I checked in device manager and nothing listed only the mouse. Can anyone
point me in right direction. ?
