Windows 10: No transparent taskbar after Windows update

I used to have a transparent taskbar before. I got it using Open-Shell. However, the transparency capability seems to no longer work. I think the problem started after I installed a recent Windows update, but I'm not sure. It could have been a week ago or a bit more. I read something about it on the web somewhere, but the technical language goes over my head and I'm not sure if it's a bug in the Windows update. I tried other stuff temporarily, like TranslucentTB, but it doesn't work. Has anyone else had taskbar difficulties too?

I would suggest you to change the desktop themes and check if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

If that doesn't help I would suggest you to end the explorer.exe and restart it and see if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

Please follow the steps below to restart explorer.exe:

stop and start Explorer.exe

    Right click on the taskbar and select task manager.
    
  • 
    In the process Right click on windows explorer and end the task
    
  • 
    Restart the task by clicking on the file and select new task
    
  • 
    Type Explorer.exe and press enter.

I have a workaround to stop this happening. I’ve posted it multiple times, I hope the original poster will accept it as the answer as it disappears in all of the answers. Forget searching for something, follow these steps and you will be fine:

1. First do a restart so that the small window is not blocking anything.
   
2. Then click on the blue window at the bottom of your screen.
   
3. Type in "transparency",
   
4. select the first thing that comes up in the search that is "Transparency Effects".
   
5. In the popup turn off the transparency effects.
   
6. You need to restart your computer
   
7. Welcome to not be bothered by this transparent window anymore
