Windows 10: No update notice with Win 7 for Win 10?

    No update notice with Win 7 for Win 10?


    After my husband recently upgraded and tried Win 10, I would also like to have it too, but I have updated my Win 7 version through the updates page and no where can I see where to upgrade to Win 10? He received a Win 10 upgrade notice a few months back for preordering, but I don't recall seeing one for me or if there was one, I opted out for the time being. I am using Win 7 Home Premium(registered).
    Any help would be awesome!

    I've Upgraded to WIN 10, from WIN 7 SP1. I am having numerous problems, the newest problem is, I've run WIN Updates, and noticed that WIN Updates has downloaded 26 Updates for WIN 8.1, and continues...Is this Normal?

    Win 7 Home > Win 7 Pro upgrade AFTER MS pre-loads my Win 10 stuff

    I have a laptop running Win 7 Home Premium and late in July I invoked Get Win 10. Now, I have the notice that Win 10 is ready to install on the laptop.

    However, meantime, my son has given me an un-opened new installation copy of

    Win 7 Pro. I'd like to install this version of Win 7 on the laptop BEFORE upgrading to Win 10 so I will get the Pro version of Win 10.

    If I upgrade to Win 7 now, after having received the notice that Win 10 is ready to install, will I get Win 10 Pro? If not, what do I need to do to be sure that I get Win 10 Pro after I have updated to Win 7 Pro?

    Hello Electra! Welcome to the forums! If you don't have a system image backup of your computer - or at least a backup of your data, we would highly recommend you do that before you upgrade. That way if something should happen to go wrong, you'll have your backup to fall back on.

    To upgrade, all you have to do is select the "Upgrade this PC now" option of the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. You run the 32 or 64 bit version of the MCT that matches your Windows 7 - 32 or 64 bit.
