    So i have the exact same issue as described here, in the original post that is now locked. Ramesh Srinivasan linked to a reg file that fixed this exact issue i am having.the link is no longer valid.     As you can see below, I can't change the default link type for MAGNET. There is no option to manually pick a program to handle this link type. I can either pick whatever that is on the list, or pick one app in Microsoft store. The program I use doesn't exist in Microsoft store.

    So, the question is, is there any manual way to change link type handler in Windows 11? I remember win 10 allow you to do that. Thanks.

    Hi Derek,

    I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

    The best way to change the MAGNET link association it opening the application you want to set and in the application, settings set it to be the default application open MAGNET links. All applications that open MAGNET links have this option. If you need help finding it tell me the application and I show you where to find the setting.

    How to change default app for file type

    @Bree - yes, I'm quite aware of this thanks, but as you will see it's missing. I recall reading that clicking the dialogue at a certain point in blank space made it appear, and trying that once successfully, but doesn't seem to help now. Plenty of other similar reports of this option being missing.
