    No way to defragment system partition.


    Hi!

    I'm having problems with defrafmentation of system partition under Windows 10 x64.


    Using windows defragmenter, it says 37% fragmentation. I click on "Optimize" and entire process takes about 3 hours.

    After that, analizing disk again, says 37% fragmentation.


    I've even tryed a few 3rd party apps with same results.


    I've even tryed to defrag from Windows PE, but only that problematic partition is NOT recognised. Why???


    I've allso tryed chkdsk, sfc, DISM... nothing helps.


    S.M.A.R.T. reports everything normal with drive...


    Otherwise, windows is working "normaly". By "normaly", I mean slow AF and with no errors, what so ever. It takes about 20 - 30minutes to boot. And another 20 minutes to load CAM viewer program.

    Task manager reports 100% disk usage at about 1-4MB/s

    how to remove "System Reserved partition" from Defrag?

    Most post's about this seem to relate to Win 7, with "just leave it alone" as an answer.

    C>properties>Tools>optimize>System "Needs Optimization (75% fragmented)"

    How to defragment System reserved partition

    If your PC is slow it's not because of the System Reserved partition being fragmented. It doesn't need to be defragged, ever. Leave it alone.

    system hard disk shows 100% defragmented

    The drive (partition) you're referring to is small, used by the system as its name suggests, and doesn't need to be defragged. Leave it alone.
