Windows 10: No wifi option everytime I take my laptop somewhere.

Hello,


Every time I take my laptop somewhere I don't have the wifi option. Once I got home I still have the same problem, I ended up resetting the computer, and now when I try to install the Wifi driver I get "The installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator"


I have tried the following:


Method 1 :
1. Click Start on the Windows taskbar, and then click Run.
2. On the Run window, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
3. On the Group Policy window, navigate to Local Computer Policy, then Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, and then Windows Installer.
4. Double-click Prohibit non-administrators from applying vendor signed updates.
5. Click Disabled, and then click OK.

Method 2:
1. Click Start -> Control Panel
2. Open Administrative Tools
3. Open Local Security Settings
4. Click Software Restriction Policies
5. If no software restrictions are defined, right-click the Software Restriction Policies node and select New Software Restriction Policy
6. Double click Enforcement
7. Select "All users except local administrators"
8. Click OK

Method 3: - I dont have an "installer" folder
start > run regedit
Browse the registry to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Create: DisableMSI Type: REG_DWORD value = 0 0 should allow you to install it was originally 1
In my case the value had been set to 2 so I changed it to 0


also this:


- Right click on Command Prompt and run as administrator.
- Copy and paste the following line one at a time, pressing enter each time:

- netsh winsock reset - and hit Enter.
- netsh int ip reset - and hit Enter.
- ipconfig / release - and hit Enter.
- ipconfig / renew - and hit Enter.
- ipconfig / flushdns - and hit Enter

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can not find wifi option in my laptop.

1. There is no wifi adapter buttons in my laptop & i also try all step but it is still not working.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.
