Windows 10: No wifi options, only airplane mode is showing v

I recently upgraded my pc hardware, new motherboard and cpu, after going through bios to select boot priority to windows, it’s now telling me that I need to set up a new pin due to security changes apparently? I’m currently stuck on the windows log in page because my wifi isn’t connected even though im using ethernet. There are no wifi options or bluetooth and it only shows me airplane mode. Anytime I try to do set up my pin it tells me that I need a internet connection for this and then gives me the options to cancel or retry. I’ve tried resetting my router and pc a couple times hoping it wou

problem was:

pc cant connect to wifi cos airplane mode randomly turned on by itself

you can google to see why computer does that - microsoft seems to have never fixed this

fixed this by turning off something in services (this goes to show how many services are bad and should be off by default, again a long-standing microsoft problem that they've never made better)


new problem:

the wifi icon on botton left changed to the airplane mode icon

and when old problem was fixed, airplane mode icon is stuck like that

what are steps to fix?

what are troubleshoot this?

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. If you Toggle Airplane mode to ON/OFF does it still work? If it just stays ON even after toggling there could be a glitch with the airplane mode icon since it shows you are on Airplane mode but you can still connect to the Wifi network. I suggest removing it from the action center and adding it again.

Here's how:

1) Press windows key + A (This opens up the Action center)

2) Click the pencil icon to edit the list

3) Unpin Airplane mode.

4) Close Action center

While still connected to Wifi, try the same steps again.

1) Press windows key + A (This opens up the Action center)

2) Click the pencil icon to edit the list

3) Select Add

4) Add Airplane mode to the list

5) Toggle it ON/OFF and see if it functions normally this time.

If it doesn't. I suggest running a system file check and an image repair of Windows.

Here's how:

Run System File Checker

1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search

2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator

3) Enter this command and press enter: sfc /scannow

4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.

5) Check if the issue still persists.

Run windows image fix.

1) Press Windows key + S, this will open search

2) Type cmd, run command prompt as administrator

3) Enter this command and press enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

4) Wait for the process to finish and reboot your computer.

5) Check if the issue still persists.

Airplane mode and WiFi are showing up

I have a desktop computer that wouldn’t show any WiFi networks. I put it on airplane mode and tried to turn it back off but it won’t show airplane mode anyway in my computer. It's not in settings, action center, anything. Is there a way to make my airplane
mode show up on computer? I'll deal with the WiFi last.
