  1. No wifi

I keep losing my wifi connection on my asus laptop. I know nothing about computers but hope that someone has an "easy" solution. I also have a desktop that is running fine. Any help would be appreciated. I am unable to log into and websites. If worse comes to worse, I will have to take it to my computer guy.....lol which will probably be the case, but thought I would ask the good people here on the forums first. If you need a model # it is D553S Thanks

    :)

  2. No wifi / ethernet menu

    Hello,

Yesterday I upgraded my lenovo laptop (y510P) from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

After this upgrade was installed in tried to connect to internet but then I encountered a problem.

My laptop didn't automatically connect to wifi and there was also no response when the ethernet cable was inserted.

In the sub menu 'Network & Internet' the header 'Wi-Fi' and the header 'Ethernet' are both missing.

This means it will not connect to the internet.

While running windows 8.1 I had no such problems.

Does anyone know what to do??

    No wifi

Hi, please see discussion here, for example.
Wifi fine, but no internet - keeps happening - Windows 10 Forums

    Unfortunately, it gets technical. Sorry.

    Basics:
    - by 'lose' - do you mean it completely disconnects?
    - check you have a strong signal without interference from other channels. See my first post above.
    - do other devices connect satisfactorily when near your PC? (You mention a desktop, so are you connecting to the same router by Wifi? If so, is your desktop in the same place as your laptop?)
    - does your PC work ok with a different router?

You say you are unable to log in to sites.
    1. Can you log in to those sites with your desktop?
    2. Can you see those sites on your laptop when the Wifi is working? If so, I'm puzzled why you can't log in. That would be a different issue entirely from the Wifi connection dropping.

I had a similar problem with an Asus F555. Bought with Windows 10 installed, it dropped it's internet connection several times a day, and the only way to reconnect was to reboot. I changed drivers, rolled back to Win8 drivers (which improved stability) but in the end, I bought a new router. My old router was about 4 years old, and still worked okay with my phones etc., but now I have no issues at all. Hasn't dropped out since.
So before you spend money down at the computer store, try taking your laptop to a friend's house with a decent wi-fi connection, and see if you have the same issue there.

  7. Hi there,

I had the same issue like you but my computer is not the same brand as yours. Fortunately recently, I have got this issue resolved by myself. Hope it also work for you..

    1) Click on the WiFi signal icon on your computer taskbar to open the WiFi page that contains a list of different network names.
    2) Right-click on the WiFi box (please refer to the attached snapshot where the cursor pointed) and you will see a message Go to Settings.
    3) Click on Go to Settings, click on Manage Known Networks.
    4) On Manage Known Networks, you might see a list of all your saved networks from the past to the current ones (if you had saved not only one network names onto your computer).
    5) Right-click on the network names that you don't want and click on Forget to remove them away and, only keep the one network name that you always want to connect with.
    6) By doing all the above, the WiFi connection will not automatically disconnect itself no matter what you do to the computer (e.g, restart computer or put the computer to sleep).

    Good luck!

and you might try turning these off to stop possible connections to other networks.

  9. dalchina suggestion is right too, those settings also need to pay attention to.

It's simple...must keep in mind, you only need to allow and configure 1 network router to your computer which you want always or for instant. Too many network routers connect with your computer at the same time can cause conflict thus WiFi will become unstable and disconnect itself etc.

Also, if this setting is turned on for your WiFi adapter, go ahead and turn it off (you may want to remember this, though, because you'll want to turn it back on when you unplug the laptop and run from battery):
