Windows 10: Non-detectable Camera after Windows 11 Update on HP Spectre x360

After the last Windows 11 update, the camera on my HP Spectre x360 stopped working. I have run all troubleshooting scenarios, device managers, driver updates, etc., and sought online help from Microsoft. The online tech could not find any issues, but the laptop was not handled from the time of the automatic update and the startup the next day when the camera lock key would not turn off. Now what?

Non Detectable Camera after Windows 11 Update on HP Spectre x360

Hi,

For months now my device (HP Spectre x360 convertible laptop) has not had a working camera, and as far as I can recall, this is since the Windows 11 update. The camera is built into the device and my camera kill switch is set to enable the camera. Not a single app can identify my camera, and Microsoft gives me the error code: 0XA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>.

I have tried everything to regain access to my camera but to no avail. I have reset my device to previous updates, attempted to refresh and restart several camera relating apps as well as reinstalled the camera driver. My device manager does not even detect that the device has a camera, and HP support does not have a camera device for me to install, therefore I cannot reinstall the camera.

I have looked at other forums, and community pages, as well as spoken to a member of HP customer service and support online and no one has been able to resolve this problem. Is there a windows 11 camera driver that I can install to resolve this problem or does anyone have any other ideas of what can be done? Having a camera is critical for the work that I do as I participate in a lot of online video calls.

We understand the concern as you are unable to find the Webcam and microphone driver in Device Manager. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed on the PC? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
  
• What happens when you open the Camera app?
  
• Are you not able to see the webcam driver under Imaging devices?
  
• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

Regarding the Microphone issue, we would suggest you to run the
Audio Troubleshooter listed under Troubleshooting from the

HP website once your PC gets detected.

I am very confused re:your reply. The last reply on the thread was 12/23/2017. My reply on 01/04/2018 is only 10 days after which I don't consider old. Additionally,
the question "Can't setup Windows Hello after Fall Update on HP Spectre x360" is directly answered by my suggestion to update the driver on the HP TrueVision FHD RGB-IR, which is the camera used in the spectre x360 13" and 15", which will solve
most problems using Windows Hello after the Fall Creators update with the spectre x360 camera. Regardless, I will post no more.
