Hi all,Thank you for the continuous support.Below is our test environment:I was prompted to enter credential when trying to map a print queue from non domain Windows 11 22H2 to a joined domain print server.Upon entering the credential, the warning pop up appeared:And when I click on [Yes], it will continue to repeat the same warning message causing me unable to map the print queue. We tested some of the remedy post on the web but non of them is able to resolve this issue.https://www.kapilarya.com/the-credentials-supplied-are-not-sufficient-to-access-this-printer-windows-10https://sastechvisi

  2. Non-Domain Windows Computers Unable to Print via Print Server

    Hello,

We recently encountered a problem (i.e. multiple machines) wherein if they attempt to add a printer or print via our print server they encounter an error:

"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x0000007c."

The other error that we are getting is in the Device/Printers pane "Driver needs an update." For the computers on our domain, updating the driver was relatively easy/painless. For computers not on the domain however, it seems to be much more problematic.

One user was experiencing an issue wherein any they tried to print from would become unresponsive. Another user was getting the specific error when we tried reinstalling the printer via the print server.

We were able to setup the printer directly, bypassing the print server.

With a new Dell Latitude that has recently been configured with few programs (Zoom, Chrome, Acrobat Reader, Office, and Webroot), uninstalling KB5006670 resolved the issue. I was able to both install the printer (Konica Minolta Bizhub C558) and print a test page successfully.

After printing the test page, I re-ran Windows Update, re-installing KB5006670 as well as KB5006365. Now I get the "Driver needs to be updated" in the Windows 10 Device/Printer settings pane. If I remove and try to re-add the printer via our Print Server, I get "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation failed with error 0x0000007c."

    My two questions are:

    1. Why am I only able to uninstall KB5006365 on some computers, and is there a way to force the uninstall of that update?

    2. What is the long term fix to this solution? My supervisor suggested it may be related to the print server firewall and/or NTLM....any suggestions?

    Shalom,

    Kevin
