Windows 10: Non-existent program is stuck in the task bar

There is this app on my task bar that doesn't exist. It's MS word 2016, and I have the current version of word downloaded. The task bar icon has no image, and when I click to try run it, nothing happens. If I search up the the MS Word 2016 it cannot be found. If I right click on the task bar icon, to try unpin it, it just says pin to task bar (which it is already on).

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

• Right click on the Task Bar.
• Uncheck the option " Lock the Taskbar."

how to successfully pin files to the task bar

I use to be able to drag and drop files onto the task bar and they would reside withing the file list for that program. Since the recent upgrade it appears that I am not able to pin a file to the program on the task bar. Suggestions?

I suggest you to clear the task from Task Scheduler using the below steps and check if the issue still persists.

Steps:-

• Type Task Scheduler on Search bar.
• Click on Task Scheduler Library.
• Select the particular task and right click on it.
• Select End.
