Windows 10: Non-pinned frequent folders not showing up in Quick Access

Normally in Windows 10, frequently-viewed folders will show up under the pinned ones in Quick Access, like this not actually my PC, just an example



Mine, on the other hand, is missing the frequently used folders from both the pane and the full view. Like this again, this is an edit of an example, not an actual screenshot of my system, but it shows exactly the same principle:


This seemed to start happening around the time I started using a hard drive clone of my old one on an entirely new system.

I think you may have misinterpreted question. If you unpin everything, the frequents folder listing on right hand panel screen disappears. However if you pin something it comes back.

I want to be able to pin folders but not have the frequents folder listing reappearing. I know I can collapse frequent folder listing.

I really see no point of it when I have folders pinned on left hand panel.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Quick Access is missing "Frequent Folders" and "Recent Files"

Thanks for the explanation and sorting tips, ThePhinx. I'm now using the "Recent Items" workaround in my File Explorer jump list.

One thing that I hadn't realized was that the (now useless) "Recent Folders" entry pinned in the jump list is somehow linked to its instance pinned to the Quick Access list. Removing it from the jump list removes it from Quick Access, which is not what
I intended. So I'll have to live with a non-working "Recent Folders" in my jump list, I guess.

It's somewhat annoying that I cannot reorder the jump list to move "Recent Folders" lower in the list. I want "Recent Folders" at the top of my Quick Access list, but at the bottom of my jump list. Windows does not seem to allow that.
