Windows 10: non responding hard drive

    Im in a bind and need help. I have a Lenovo Ideapad. I happened to look at it walking by and there was a notification as soon as I looked at it it closed but I did see that it said there was a problem with the hard drive and to restart to fix. Well, that sounded serious so I did that. Now it wont boot, cant get past the Lenovo start screen. Then went to blue screen saying a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage. It goes on with other info but then says, the bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. I ran the recovery media and again, blue screen saying, your pc couldnt start properly. A required device isnt connected or cant be accessed. Error code; 0nc000000f. I tried everything but recovery tools couldnt help. I have a new laptop now so was only concerned with recovering my files. I hadnt backed it up for a while. I had planned to, it was on my to-do list. My middle name is procrastination so I kept putting it off. I did learn a hard lesson so will do it weekly now. I purchased repair tools disk because it included parted magic and thought that would be the fix. I could not get the hard drive to mount so, no luck with that. Fast forward to now. I removed the hard drive from the Ideapad and purchased an enclosure and plugged it into my new laptop. It showed up as drive D in file explorer. The status bar was moving across the top for a couple minutes so was hopeful the drive was loading. No. Error popped up saying, D:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect. So I need help getting windows 10 to mount my external drive so I can hopefully recover my files.
    Windows version on new laptop, 20H2 OS build 1904.746

    Overclock your hard drive!!!

    Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    STEPS:
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
    Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!
