Windows 10: Non-responsive touchscreen keyboard

Hi,I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC v1809 on a touchscreen PC.This PC came with a piece of equipment my company purchased, and when it was installed, the touchscreen keyboard worked fine; it popped up when you entered a text input field, or when you pressed the button on the taskbar.However, since our IT department implemented their anti-virus / encryption software etc, the touchscreen keyboard and button no longer works.I've searched for solutions online, but almost all of them are based on newer versions of Windows, and I'm not able to upgrade.Trying this forum as a last resort; I ca

Method 1.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your keyboard & mouse. Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

Method 2.

Try updating the latest keyboard devices from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the Keyboard drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the Keyboard driver.

c. Right-click on the HID Keyboard Device and click on Update driver software.

d. Restart the computer and check.

Touchscreen response lag when not used for a while


I have a new Windows 10 running on a brand new Dell xps13 i7 6500 machine. It is a touchscreen enabled model, which on normal use is very responsive. However, I've noticed that if I leave the touchscreen for a bit (say 5 minutes), it seems to go to 'sleep' - the screen itself remains lit and everything appears normal but...

...if I interact with it after it has been sitting unused, it takes about 5-7 seconds to respond to the first touch. But thereafter starts responding like normally.

It's a month old PC with only some Windows updates installed other than what came pre-installed.

Anybody else experience a similar issue? Any suggestions on where to look further to resolve this?
